Our History...

In the early 1970’s Michael Gross went to work for a banquet facility in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. There, throughout the 70’s he watched and worked with chefs who were able to produce large quantities of food using basic, raw ingredients. The food always smelled and tasted wonderful. The chefs were mostly of Eastern European descent and they created mostly simple fare that was perfectly balanced in flavor.

Michael Gross, then, worked with numerous hotels, and restaurants in Cleveland, Akron, New Orleans and Atlanta, picking up various cuisines and techniques along the way. In 1996, Michael decided to go into catering. Invariably, the feedback he got was, “This tastes homemade”, or, “This is not like other catered food”. But a phrase that stuck out the most was, “This is real food”. In April of 2002, Michael decided that “Real Food” had to be included in the name.
